The Sound of Intention
Most music made for wellbeing is chosen from a library after the fact. I compose it for the arc it has to hold, before anything is built around it. That means asking where it sits, what it is doing to a nervous system at minute forty, and what happens when it stops. Thirty years of playing sits behind that question, most of it spent learning how sound carries people who are not listening on purpose.

Most of my commissioned work now is for facilitators and platforms who need music built for what actually happens in the room.

Sounds of SAND
Beyond composing, I produce and sound design. For the past four years I have been producer, sound designer and co-host of Sounds of SAND, the podcast of Science and Nonduality. This is a wonderful organization working at the intersection of spirituality, healing, social justice and collective awakening. Guests from our nearly 200 episodes include Gabor Maté, Tara Brach, Pir Zia Inayat Khan, Michael Meade, Monica Gagliano and Parvathy Baul.

A conversation. You tell me what the music needs to do, where it sits in the arc, and how long it runs.
A proposal. Scope, timeline, and a fixed fee. No hourly billing.
A first pass. I send something early rather than late, so we find the direction together.
Two rounds of revision are included. Most projects need one.
Delivery in whatever formats your platform needs.

From 2006 — 2018, I spent a decade scoring for choreographers and theatre companies. That work taught me how music holds a body in motion, which turns out to be most of what I do now.
Listening Bodies
Dance, video and Deep Listening, made with Monica Gentile. Our projects Listening Bodies started in 2018 merging my Deep Listening sonic practice with Monica's somatic one. We teach workshops around the world in places like Costa Rica, Germany, Denmark, Thailand and India. We also created several dance film pieces in our travels for which I composed the music, designed the sound.
