ZOOM (CAMERAS OFF)Sound Sangha: A Community Space for Deep Listening
What IS SOUND SANGHAA free weekly gathering to pause, listen, and sit together in sound.
Audio only. Screens off. Forty-five minutes. Free. Every Friday.
❋ Who it is forAnyone willing to sit and listen. You do not need to be a musician or a meditator.
❋ Who it is not forIt is not a performance, not a sound bath, and not content to half-watch while you do something else. It asks for forty-five minutes of real attention, once a week.
❋ FacilitationLed by Michael Reiley, a 20+ year meditation practitioner, musician and teacher at the Center for Deep Listening founded by Pauline Oliveros.
❋ A Supportive SpaceSangha is the ancient word for ‘Community’. The structure of the sessions are around a welcoming community where you can share and get support on your listening, music and meditation practices.
“Listening as meditation is a doorway to the present moment. Sound exists only here, only now — when we listen deeply, we step fully into life, awake and alive to the unfolding now.” — Michael Reiley

Meet Michael Reiley
Michael Reiley is a composer, ceremonial musician, and contemplative teacher based in rural Tuscany. For 30 years he has worked at the intersection of sound, silence, and the threshold moments of human life — birth, death, grief, healing, and the ordinary practice of staying awake.
He is a certified Deep Listening® facilitator trained in the lineage of Pauline Oliveros, a trained therapeutic musician (MHTP), and a certified mindfulness teacher. His music has accompanied hospice care, psychedelic-assisted therapy research, maternity wards, and grief work across the US and Europe.
Sound Sangha is the contemplative community he founded in 2021. The core teaching: listening is meditation.
